However, as I will always be, I am worried about the effects of curriculum. In some parts of the country school committees have reached some particularly backward decisions regarding science curricula, e.g. evolutionary theory, and Federal control would eliminate such outliers. But on the other hand Federal control could destroy school curricula which are particularly good. Textbooks do non have a good profit margin, and thus are not regularly updated well and are often biased so as to appeal more to teachers, Federal control could potentially pick a particularly erroneous text to use. I would hate to imagine that a whole generation of children could go through the public education system using a bad text book.
