Technological Change in Social Skills

Next week, we will be discussing social capital. Social skills are an important part of an individual's social capital. While social skills are important, we spend very little time formally acquiring them. We basically expect people to acquire them from trial and error. Needless to say, some people never figure things out all that well.

Some of these folks (aka people at MIT) are developing technology to help them out (ok, technically it is supposed to be for autistic people not regular MIT nerds). The device is designed to help people perform better in social situations by alerting them when they are boring their audience. You can check out the details here.
