Change in the Ticket Market
Previously, I discussed the bizarre underpricing and restrictions on re-sale in the market for event tickets. Today, the Freakonomics blog points out that ticketmaster is now going to auction off tickets for the best seats. Levitt points out that this is likely in response to the a change in the importance of album sales for band revenues. Tony V. provides more information on the change in the market for music at Econball. (Tony V adds more on the change here.)
